ECS teachers wanted: Join this new PD opportunity to hone your assessment skills and practice!

SRI Education is teaming up with CS for All Teachers to offer TALECS, an online professional development program aimed at helping Exploring Computer Science (ECS) teachers to hone their assessment skills and practices. TALECS will focus on three types of assessments: classroom observations, written assessments, and portfolios. Together with colleagues, participants will collaboratively create their own rubrics and other tools for these three assessment types and discuss ways to use them.

The PD program is organized around three 3-week “bursts” of activities—one each in fall, winter, and spring. Participating teachers should plan to devote about two hours each week during the bursts. Activities will include participating in a live webinar, threaded discussions, and sharing resources. Whatever teachers learn and make should be directly applicable in their ECS classrooms, with opportunities to share classroom experiences with colleagues. TALECS team members will receive support from other participants and project leaders through online discussions between bursts.

For further information or to apply as a participant, please contact with your name, contact info, and number of years you have taught ECS. We are looking for teachers with at least one year of experience.

I'm always a little concerned when I go to a website that my computer kicks back a box saying that there is no authentication certificate required.  Working in a school environment shouldn't this be a requirement for anything that we respond to?

Will the focus be on the end of unit assessments or developing tools to use throughout the class? Will there be any focus on specific units?

I accepted a job as an ESL teacher in middle school (7th-9th grade). I'm looking for how to set my classroom, including the physical make-up of the room, classroom management technologies, components of the system, etc. It will be my first year as a teacher). Although I'm certified to teach Middle School ESL, I'll use it in the early age. Any tips will be appreciated! Thanks! A One Assignments - write my assignment cheap
