Sharing a message from our partners at CSTA

NOTE: This message is being shared with the CS for All Teachers community as an update on what's happening with CSTA. It was originally distributed via the CSTA email newsletter.

Dear CSTA members, board and advisory board members, stakeholders, and sponsors:

As you learned from Fred Martin, CSTA Board of Directors Chair, I have been appointed as Interim Executive Director of CSTA while we conduct a search for a new permanent executive director. I am happy to serve in this capacity to continue the great work that CSTA does to support our K-12 computer science (CS) educators. I have been actively involved with CSTA since 2007, serving in various capacities including as a board member and chair and as co-chair of the CSTA K-12 Standards Committee. CSTA is near and dear to my heart, as is K-12 CS education.

During the past three weeks, I have had the pleasure of communicating with many of you about CSTA and your support for the organization. I hope to have the opportunity to speak with many more of you in the weeks to come. Thank you so much for all that you have done and will continue to do to support CSTA and our K-12 CS educators. I appreciate those who have reached out to me to wish me well. We have much to do to continue our mission to empower, engage and advocate for K-12 CS teachers worldwide. It will be my pleasure to work with all of you in this endeavor.

Please rest assured that the good work of CSTA continues. Our committees are actively engaged, and I have been able to speak with many of the volunteer committee chairs via video conference or phone call. The strength of our organization lies in our many volunteers, especially those who serve on our committees. The CSTA staff, board leadership, and I continue to work on the many projects and initiatives that CSTA has undertaken. The CSTA leadership, staff and I are also working to sustain our many partnerships and to forge new connections in the K-12 CS space. We are indebted to ACM CEO Bobby Schnabel and COO Pat Ryan for their support and guidance as we go through this transition.

The search committee has been diligently working on the search for a new permanent executive director. The job posting went live [on September 1]. You may find the full position profile here. The link directly to the application portal (included within the profile) is here. We ask you to please share this widely within your own networks.

Again, thank you so much for your support of CSTA and your work on behalf of CSTA. The vitality of this organization depends upon all of us working together. Please feel free to reach out to me for further information or just to schedule a call.
