Vinny Chiaramonte, a CS for All Teachers Community Ambassador, was recently named a 2017 Milken Educator Award Recipient. The accolade, which awards a cash prize and garners national recognition, is considered the “Oscars of Teaching.” Check out the press release here!

Candidates are confidentially selected, reviewed by state department of education-appointed panels, and finally recommended to the Milken Family Foundation for ultimate approval - all without ever knowing they were under consideration! Recipients are honored in early- to mid-career for demonstrated achievement as well as the promise of future accomplishments.

Vinny is a computer science teacher at Bumpus Middle School in Alabama, where he serves on the Governor’s Advisory Council for Computer Science Education as well as the state’s Digital Literacy and Computer Science Course of Study Committee.
